Air Suspension – from daily driving to show stance at the push of a button.Air suspension is an increasingly popular and practical way to lower your car. It provides full height control thanks to the air springs that replace traditional coils. The ride height is managed by an air management kit (control unit) that operates via air pressure, level sensors, or height sensors. There are affordable control unit options, such as manual kits, which use air pressure and are often operated with simple buttons for raising and lowering the car.Digital systems, on the other hand, use an onboard computer - allowing you to save presets for driving, show, or sport modes. These digital systems are much more convenient since they automate height adjustment and can even be controlled via remote or mobile apps for Android and iOS.

Which Are the Most Popular Air Suspension Control Systems?

Answer: Among the most popular air suspension control systems are Air Lift Performance 3P and 3H. These systems are known for their simplicity, reliability, and advanced functionality. With features such as individual corner adjustment and preset ride heights, they provide excellent control over your air suspension. If you’re looking for a more affordable option, the 4-way manual kits are a perfect entry point.

How Much Does Air Suspension Cost?

Answer: The budget for an air suspension setup can vary widely, but there are a few core components you’ll always need:

  • Air springs
  • Control system / valve manifold
  • Air tank
  • Compressor
  • Hoses & fittings

So why do prices vary so much? The main difference lies in the control system. Compressors and tanks are fairly similar in price - costs only rise slightly with larger or more advanced models. Control systems, however, vary greatly: a manual system is inexpensive, while a digital one is significantly more advanced.

What’s the Difference Between a Manual and a Digital Control System?

A manual control system doesn’t require expensive ECUs or wiring harnesses. Instead, it uses simple air pressure gauges and paddle switches through which the air hose passes for height adjustment. This allows you to build an affordable air suspension system with just a few components. The advantage is clearly the price - but the drawback is that it’s manual. You’ll need to learn how to read the gauges and know how much to raise or lower the car based on pressure readings.

Digital control systems, on the other hand, include smart features that make air suspension much easier to use. The ECU and valve manifold are integrated, giving you sensor-based control for each air spring. This means full control over pressure and height settings at every corner of the car. With sensors, you can store presets - pre-programmed ride heights - and enjoy features like automatic lift at startup, mobile app control, and system diagnostics via the controller’s display. The most popular pressure-based system is the Air Lift 3P.

The most advanced system is the Air Lift 3H, which is height-sensor-based.It’s built on the same platform as the 3P but includes additional height sensors, enabling automatic self-leveling and highly precise ride height adjustment.
