Compressors for air suspension

At DDESIGN, you’ll find compressors for your air suspension setup. We sell VIAIR’s world-renowned models as well as more affordable alternatives such as Streetec. The compressor is one of the most essential parts of an air suspension kit and should be chosen carefully. The Viair 444C is more or less the standard in today’s air suspension compressor kits. However, there are now alternatives where you can purchase dual packs and use two compressors. Doing so reduces the time the compressors need to run to fill the tank, thanks to the doubled airflow. 

Which Compressor Should I Choose for My Air Suspension?

If this is your first time using air suspension, we recommend starting with a Viair 444C - the standard in most kits. We’ve noticed that those who have used air suspension before are usually the ones who want to build with dual compressors on their next setup. Another recommendation: if you’re running a tank larger than 15 liters, you should use dual 444Cs or a larger compressor, such as the new 485C. This model has a capacity similar to that of dual 444Cs. 

Where Should I Mount the Compressor in My Air Kit? 

This question has two parts. Practically speaking, you should mount the compressor on a flat surface since it’s a piston compressor. You should also keep in mind that the compressor gets hot and needs access to cool air to function properly (and to avoid overheating). So, place the compressor where it can get sufficient air intake.

Are the Compressors CE Certified?

Both Viair and Streetec compressors are CE certified. There is also growing discussion around ECE R10 certification, as more and more products are being classified to meet current standards and regulations.
