The HKS VR38DETT 4.3L STEP3 Complete Engine is a fully assembled high-performance engine designed for the 2008+ Nissan GT-R (R35). The engine's displacement has been increased to 4.3 liters, delivering significantly higher torque throughout the RPM range while providing greater horsepower potential. The increased displacement, combined with HKS's proven engine components, results in faster engine response and a broader, more usable powerband.

At the heart of the engine is a CNC-machined billet crankshaft, engineered with an optimized lightweight design to reduce torsional vibration and improve engine response. Forged pistons and forged H-beam connecting rods are built to withstand high boost pressures and extreme engine loads, while reinforced main bearing caps, oversized main stud bolts, and upgraded bearings provide outstanding durability under demanding operating conditions.

The engine is equipped with HKS high-lift camshafts designed to maximize airflow at high engine speeds, increasing top-end performance. A dedicated VR43 crankshaft damper, co-developed with ATI, minimizes torsional vibration and improves crankshaft stability under high power output. A multi-layer steel head gasket, together with reinforced engine block modifications, ensures maximum sealing performance and long-term reliability.
