Chassis - Coilovers active/electronic chassis?

Is it possible to mount Coilovers on a car with an Active/Electronic chassis?

Absolutely! However, it requires a little extra work compared to a car that came without this type of chassis. Many modern cars have chassis where it is possible to choose between at least two different modes such as Comfort, Sport or even Sport+. It is a function that is very much appreciated by many who like to drive actively but at the same time want good comfort when traveling long distances. Perfect combination!

Lowering springs

To lower the car, however, it is necessary to lower with lowering springs, the advantage of these is that you do not affect the possibilities of adjusting the chassis with the button from inside the car. The shock absorbers, which are what are regulated, are not replaced and that way the system will be intact. There are also adjustable lowering kits such as KW Suspension's HAS kit. Then you can individually choose the height of the car, like a coilover, but the OEM damper is maintained.

Coilovers

Cancellation Kit: However, if you want to go all the way and switch to coilovers, there are 2 options. Either you have to consider not being able to use the button in the car anymore and adjust the hardness directly on the dampers. Then you use a so-called Cancellation Kit, which is a resistance, you trick the system that the OEM damper is still in place. On some cars, it is also possible to delete error messages that comes up when the car's system is no longer complete. With such a kit installed, it is possible to use all the model-adapted coilover kits that are available for the car.

KW Suspension DDC: The other option is to run a Coiloverset which is also controlled electronically. Here is the KW Suspensions DDC, a complete coilover that plugs into the car's system and is then controlled using the button inside the car. A very popular option among the more modern cars where you still want the convenience of not having to adjust the dampers in the engine compartment etc.
