Brakes - How do I choose the right one?
An example could be that an original Audi A4 B8 comes with:
- Different engine sizes
- Equipment packages
- Pre-facelift & Facelift
Brake discs
On our brake discs & pads, you will find technical information such as measurements, drawings, etc. You use it to compare with your brake discs, e.g. If it says that our brake discs are 345mm in diameter, that is the measurement you need to check if you have it. You measure the diameter by taking a ruler or measuring tape, across the brake disc, from edge to edge. It can be a bit tricky, but if you get an approximate measurement, you will be able to distinguish which product you should have.
Brake pads
Pads for cars are based on a so-called backing plate. It is the mold itself, which is usually made of metal, that sits behind the coating/mixture itself. It is the very shape to which brake calipers (car models) the pad fits. The shapes can be quite similar, but it is important that you get it right, because otherwise the pad will not slide in the caliper as it should.
The same thing as above applies here if your car is offered several pad shapes, due to e.g. equipment package (original sports brakes, M-sport, etc.). Check what your car has by finding out the pad shape, either by taking a pad out and looking, or find out what brake system your car has.
We will be happy to help you find the right brakes for the car. Write to our support via the form or chat and we will help you!
