When do I need to check the axle weight on my car?
When buying lowering springs or other types of road holding kits, a max/min axle weight can sometimes be stated. This has to do with the hardness of the springs as they are adapted to support a certain weight. The heavier the car, the harder the spring must be to be able to hold the car up. This means that a car model can have several different spring sets. This is because different engine options and equipment packages mean that the models weigh different amounts. All these springs will fit the car, but to get maximum roadholding and comfort, you must choose the kit with the right axle weight for your car.Do I have to weigh the car to get the axle weight?
No, weighing is not required. It is already done from the factory. You can find the weight on the type plate, which is usually found under the hood or in the doorway depending on the car model. On the line indicated with "Axle 1" you will find the weight over the front axle and "Axel 2" indicates the weight over the rear axle.
