Aftermarket headlights - Approved or not?
Are styling lights approved for street use? What does the inspection say?
This is a very common question we get about lights for the car. In some cases, lights from Depo Sonar come with E-marking. Spyder Auto's lights, on the other hand, are aimed at the US market and do not have a stamp of approval for EU markets. The rules regarding lights are basically the same as for all aftermarket parts and cars at the moment. You can't simply rebuild a car. However, most cars pass tests even with styling lights as long as the lighting and functions are correct.
Rear lights, it is important that they are colored correctly, i.e. orange/yellow and not red as most American cars and products do.
