KONI Special Active is an advanced shock absorber designed to deliver the ideal balance between premium ride comfort and precise, sporty handling. Featuring KONI's patented Active FSD (Frequency Selective Damping) technology, it automatically adapts to road conditions and driving inputs without electronics or manual adjustment.
The FSD technology responds to the frequency of suspension movements, adjusting damping characteristics to suit the situation. On rough roads and small bumps, it prioritises comfort, while providing increased control during cornering and larger body movements. The result is a more balanced driving experience with improved stability, reduced harshness and excellent everyday comfort, even during spirited driving.
Special Active features a twin-tube construction combined with a specially developed FSD valve that controls oil flow to deliver consistent, responsive damping. The technology has also been adopted as original equipment by major vehicle manufacturers.
Each shock absorber is developed for vehicle-specific fitment and OE-quality installation. KONI Special Active is available individually or as part of matched suspension kits, including selected applications for factory or performance lowering springs.
