The bracket is made to mate with ASS gearbox beams for 240 (AS-002003-01) and 740/940 (AS-002001-03).
But it also works fine to be used loosely in other bodies if you build your own gearbox beam.This is a large gearbox and it is usually necessary to cut away some reinforcements that stick out from the gearbox and also tap a bit in the gearbox tunnel to give some space at a couple of points.
There is a little less space on the Volvo 240 than the 740/940.
For the Volvo 240, in some cases it can be a problem that the gearbox ends up too far back because it is so long and if you use a thick adapter plate against the engine.
Then it also doesn't fit with the gearbox beam, which doesn't have attachment points that far back.
An example of when it does not fit with a 240 gearbox beam is with an LS V8 engine and 25mm spacer plate.
