ST Suspensions
ST Suspensions was founded in the early 80s in Southern California. Back then, the brand was called Suspension Techniques and developed many new and innovative products that the market lacked. By using quality materials, modern techniques and fast production, they created a really good value for the customer. At this time, they focused mainly on the Sportcompact market and the brand quickly grew strongly throughout the USA.
In 2005, German KW Suspensions bought Suspension Techniques and their then owner Belltech. KW, known worldwide for their stainless coilover kits, then started KW Automotive North America Inc, which became their American division. At the same time, they changed the name of Suspension Techniques to ST Suspensions.
At the same time as merging these, they brought in the technology from KW's dampers and took ST to a whole new level. Here they started manufacturing ST's new coilover program which is based on KW's Inox series, but in order to maintain an aggressive price image, a galvanized and coated damper body is used instead of a stainless one. This is to get a slightly lower production cost than the market leading KW damper.
KW and ST together are one of the most well-respected coilover manufacturers, which is based on the enormous time spent on R&D for each kit. Here, the springs and shims of the coilovers are tested in a 7-point rig. Something that can almost be described as a dyno bench for shock absorbers. The coilovers are therefore very well tuned for each application, which is most clearly seen in all satisfied customers worldwide!
ST Suspensions has several different series to suit the type of driving the product is to be used for! Everything from the slightly simpler ST X to the track coilover XTA Plus 3!
